Czesław Stanisław Bartnik

Czesław Stanisław Bartnik (1929-), General Editor of the biannual Personalism, a famous Personalist in Science, Philosophy, Theology. According to Prof. Czesław Bartnik Personalism is a system which affirms person as a key to understanding all reality, Uncreated as well as created. He is a specialist in Karol Wojtyła’s Personalism and Ecclesiology.

As a scholar and clergyman, Karol Wojtyła quite early came across situations in which the institution of the Church was presented as being in opposition to the personal life of man. Such opinions were expressed both in publications and, first and foremost, in practical life. Although they were not particularly strong in Poland, nevertheless the echoes of discussions and arguments on this issue, coming from Western Europe, reached Wojtyła’s homeland as well.
